4. Nope, I have my fuzzy slippers on.

Plus, we had a mini-heatwave today.

It hit 83.
Tomorrow should be much cooler.

but then, I'm wearing shoes and socks. Later, I imagine my toes will feel like little popsicles.

:scared:

The rest of me is freezing, though.

8. Yes. The newspaper boy threw my paper into the middle of the yard
and I had to walk out in the snow to get it. My feet have been cold ever since. But they're getting better. I have an electric foot warmer under my desk, and just turned it on! It is the greatest invention since, well, ever!

9. Yes! I have been diagnosed with Raynauld's Syndrome
and it is darn hard to keep the little piggies warm. If this below freezing stuff outdoors keep's up much longer I think I am going to have to get battery operated warmer socks or something.

My fingers stay warm as long as I am indoors but no matter how heavy a pair of mittens and gloves underneath, they still freeze and hurt like the dickens after only a few minutes.

27. i have Raynaud's as well...it really REALLY sucks...
my dr. has a habit of giving out these informational sheets about any condition you might have- it tells about the condition, the symptoms, and how to treat it...for Raynaud's, the first line in the treatment section is: move to a warmer climate if possible.

i also have migraines, and the raynaud's prevents me from being able to take certain meds for those.

btw- do your toes/finger tips ever develop painful cracks that bleed? mine do,- no matter how much i moisturize(i use a mix of aloe, coconut oil and lanolin)...and to "heal" the cracks, i use super-glue- it works great, and even kills the pain.

28. Yes I get the cracks on my fingers that bleed.
Edited on Mon Feb-19-07 01:03 PM by Liberalynn
I have been putting on moisture cream and wearing gloves to bed at night, that seems to be the only thing that helps my hands. The only problem is they just get bad again during the day. I have never used the super glue but that's an idea. I think some of the companies have liquid band aids. I wonder if they work the same way? My heels crack and bleed too.

My doctor said about the same thing in terms of the Raynaud's. He said there is no known cure but just be careful to really bundle up and avoid letting my toes get to the point where they turn blue as much as possible. It is kind of hard though keeping them from doing that especially with the sub zero stuff here in Western NY lately. I'd love to move, but I can't afford to right now.

Sorry to hear you have it too!

31. here's something else you might try...
i just picked some up, to use in my gloves when i shovel snow...but now it's looking like we're headed for an extended thaw.

in regard to the super glue- i've tried liquid bandages stuff- but it smells like rubber cement and really burns/stings. i've found super glue to work best, especially the kind with the brush on applicator.

also- did you know that super glue was originally developed by the navy, as a replacement for sutures in surgery?- so don't be concerned about putting it on an open cut.

my wife and i still have hopes of retiring to the big island(hawaii) in 5-7 years...and hopefully that will be the end of it.

but, the raynaud's is not the worst of my incurable conditions, however- i also have a painful spinal condition known as ankylosing spondylitis, that causes the slow fusion of the spine- and as i indicated, there is no cure- just strong narcotics to address the pain.

29. Yes
and I refuse to wear socks or slippers around my home; I like barefoot.

My dilemma always remains - warm and slipper'd, or cold and barefoot? Why do I always choose the latter?

and I'm sitting here in Ohio. My body is a furnace so I'm often without covers. On the other hand, the missus wears flannels, woolen socks, and claims all of the covers for herself.
