CT editorial criticizes weather forecasters for scare tactics
Not as strongly as I would have worded it... and, I wonder if they'll ever tie it to Team Bush's scare tactics regarding, well, just about everything they do?

Admit it. You were disappointed that Connecticut didn't get anywhere near the snowfall that was being hyped by forecasters all day Tuesday. A snowless winter might sound good, and even feel good, but seeing bare ground in February is downright weird.

So when told to expect a "monster" storm with depth totals up to 18 inches (maybe more) in some parts of Connecticut, all seemed right with the world. Even those who hate to cope with the shoveling no doubt breathed a sigh of relief at the prospect of normalcy.

Until Wednesday's storm, there had been less than 4 inches of snow recorded this winter, nearly a foot less than the lowest totals on record.

Like so often happens in New England, the Great Valentine's Day storm didn't follow the script. Visions of snowmen and wonderland white were replaced in most towns by a crunchy crust of frozen precipitation that barely cleared the curb.
