Weather check in.
Lots of DUers with snow. How are things where you are? If you have snow, how much?

Me: 68 degrees, cloudy. Should get to 70 today.

Also...Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

34. Just two days ago it was nearly 70 degrees.
This weather sucks. Once you hit 70 in the year, you need to stay at that temp for the rest of the year. Don't tease us with some maybe sleet. Why does New York get 80 feet of snow? I want a snow day!!! Wahhhhhhh

2. Thundersnow!!!!!!
CT: Cold, too cold to go outside and find out how cold....we'll say 30 because that seems like a nice round number. Snow and Rain and Lightning, wee! It's not accumulating, so maybe 1/2" of snow. I live at high altitude (for CT anyways) so if I have 1/2" most of CT probably has nothing. It's windy though.

:yoiks: I've got a 12:45 PM flight out, and so far it's not cancelled or delayed, but anything's possible between now and then.

Weather in central NC is a little better than that, but I'm not counting on anything. At least we don't have the incredible snowfall the Midwest and Northeast have gotten. Hugs to all of you who are suffering through that.

I don't live that far from you new_beawr.

I had about 1/2 of ice on my car, took about 45 minutes to scrape the ice off of my car.

When it was time for me to leave to go to work, my car got stuck in the driveway.

Waiting for my brother-in-law to plow, hopefully I will be able to get my car out soon.

We got about 6 or 7 inches yesterday, covered by about an half-inch of ice. Today, more snow, falling temps and wind. I think all of the schools are closed, if those who delayed today eventually closed. It's just a miserable mess out there.

17. 12 degrees, snowing and blowing in Ohio
We have about five inches of heavy, wet snow; capped with a half inch thick layer of ice, topped with several more inches of light, fluffy snow. The trees and shrubs have about a quarter inch of ice on top of every branch. It's pretty, but impossible to shovel and very hard to walk in/on.

At least 7 inches out there right now...wind is blowing. I see Little MB making a snow fort out there, but the blocks aren't very distinguishable anymore from the blowing.

They predict accumulations of 3-6 inches per hour this afternoon, so I'm still not sure what to expect in the end.

"How is the weather out there today? Should we work today?" As soon as I mentioned that my son's school was closed he quickly said we should just meet tomorrow to start the new project. It was pretty funny, it seemed like he wanted me to excuse him from work.

I haven't been outside yet today.

Got about 6 inches of snow yesterday. We're up to 15 inches for the year, and about 20 inches for the season. Really bright and sunny today, but pretty cold. I think the high is only going to be about 22, but it's not as windy as yesterday.

LOTS(!) of drifting yesterday. We only got 6 inches, but there is a 3 foot drift against the north edge of my house.

My family is here, my husband's family, it's a good place to raise children, cost of living is relatively low, when the weather IS nice there are lots of things to do, it's not densely populated (except in the t/c's, obviously), the pace of life is more relaxed, it's a blue state, I grew up here, etc. etc.

56. Depends on your circumstances to some degree, I suppose.
I'm renting an old house that's drafty as hell (despite my efforts to weatherize), and when it gets much below zero, the furnace can't keep up, the house is very cold, and I'm freezing all day long, no matter how many layers of clothes I put on. Fortunately, we're closing on a house in a week and a half that is decidedly better insulated!
