literally, sometimes I want to hit them. It's like they are saying "confirm for me that my thoughts are accurate, I am afraid." I find it exhausting. With my Dad's sister it is constant. With my Dad it's annoying because that is what he considers 'having a conversation' where he makes statements like this and you answer yes or no, and that is the extent of your contribution as far as he is concerned. Strange.
