Funniest Grammy Moment?
I nominate Jamie Foxx's "polite" applause after Christina Aguilera's performance of "It's a Man's World."

1. Reba having to go on right after the Dixie Chicks won.
Sweet justice and wonderful irony.

4. How about...
Edited on Mon Feb-12-07 01:37 AM by bob_weaver
(First, though, that was indeed an awkward moment for Jamie Foxx. Usually they show stars in the audience for only a second or two - just a snapshot. But they kept the camera on Jamie Foxx for what seemed like an eternity. You could see that he was thinking, "What?... Am I supposed to do something? Say something? What? What?")

Anyway, my nomination for funniest (or at least most awkward) moment of the night goes to........

Don Henley: "So you're recording your first album??"
Scarlett Johannson: "Yeah - any advice??"
Don Henley: "No."

7. Oh yeah, that was!
The thing is, I've always assumed the exchanges between the presenters were completely scripted. But that particular exchange just came across so awkwardly that I couldn't tell whether Scarlett Johannson and Don Henley were making a subtle joke that was planned and in the script that the audience wasn't sure what to make of, or whether they were actually improvising, and that was what confounded the audience. The exchange definitely stood out, whatever the story behind it!

6. Well, I don't know about "funny"
but, one of the weirdest was seeing Tony Bennett with Quentin Tarantino.

And the one that made me want to kill myself was seeing the great Ornette Coleman hand an award to Carrie Underwood. :wtf: (I've never been a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I REALLY appreciated their hand lettered sign saying, "Love to Ornette Coleman.")

when the Dixie Chicks were onstage accepting one of their awards. That had the wife & me in convulsions for a good 30 seconds!:spray:

12. I enjoyed Chris Rock's introduction of the Red Hot Chili Peppers -
something like "They were into jocks and socks long before Justin put his dick in a box!"
