Finished Chapter 10 Yesterday!
Anyone who has read just about anything I have posted knows I am a writer and working on the next world-changing Sci-Fi novel (not kidding - this book is going to change the world).

Well, last night I finished editing the rough of Chapter 10; its 52 pages which makes it the longest chapter in the book and puts me right at the 350pg mark. While that seems (and, honestly, is) quite impressive, I am not even half way through the story and am finally in the middle of a good head of steam creation wise. The next 2 chapters should only take until mid March and that will easily get me to over 400 pages!!!!!

I'm not sure if anyone out there cares, just lookin' for some back-slappin from the other lounge-lizard writers. I had to pull the existing chapters from my web site due to concerns over marketability, but rest assured anyone who wants to will be able to read the whole thing soon.

Feel free to ask me anything about my work and anyone else who has hit any good writing milestones recently should share....

:) :) ;)

1. I proofread books for an editor for a living, so I'm interested as hell.

2. Really? Cool
This idea is so developed that I would be hard pressed to describe it in sufficient detail in a post. I have enough material for 3 novels (each at least 600pgs, and it looks like Stringline may hit 900).

The books are called (in the order I plan to write them): Stringline, The War of Discovery (prequel), Unification Day (sequel)

BG: There are human people on Mars who are 2000 years more technologically advanced and have lived underground since a comet stole their atmosphere around the time of the birth of Christ. They have been traveling to Earth and watching us ever since that time. They are human and identical to us on Earth except that they have stripes of raised spots that run from the backs of their ears to their tail bone. The spots are called the lacaesha and are 100% genetically dominant (one parent has them and all children do). When we first traveled to Mars, they revealed their existence and revealed the true nature of the lacaesha to the people of Earth. The Martians send an Ambassador to Earth to make these revelations and charge him with offering all of Mars' technology in exchange for open immigration between the worlds so that the people of Mars may come and live on the surface of a planet again. This starts "The War of Discovery" on Earth and, well let's just say things don't go well at all.

Stringline: Almost 50 years after the War of Discovery immigration is finally opened via the Stringline, a space elevator made from cable over 100m in diameter. It is traveled by transports that move people to and from a gravitational habitat on an artificially placed moon called Anchorhead where immigrants are acclimated to their destination planet's gravity. After 30 years of operation more Martians are coming than Earthen are leaving and it has put an huge economic and social strain on the US. This leads to a revolution which is really the backdrop of the story. The story itself is about Thomas, the lead soldier in this revolution, and his best friend Slider. I manage to explores some experimental political ideas I have been working on while also remaining action packed and filled with interesting characters and provocative emotion.

I know this is just a tease, but PM me if you would like to read the first few chapters. I must warn you that what I have written so far has only received a cursory editing (though I do have a local editor I've spent most of my time moving forward and have yet to go back and review her almost 300pgs worth of notes). That being said; no one who has read it (and that is about 100 people now) has disliked it and EVERYONE's response when they are done with a new chapter is "damn it Bill, where's the next chapter".
