Ipod ?: My sister and her daughter share a computer. How does one share
different iPods on the same 'puter? Trying to load iTunes two times doesn't work. Any clues? And thanks.

1. You could create different playlists for each of you.
I think that would work.

Also - you should be able to load iTunes twice if you have Windows XP and you each have a profile on the computer.

3. Thanks. I think their computer is pretty old. All I've been told is they
can't possibly enjoy the same music, so how to resolve that?

2. Authorize Both Pods to the Same Library
I have three iPods and often hook up one of Loved One's to my computer. Mine are all authorized to my iTunes library; 'foreign' non-authorized ones can't sync without losing existing data, but you can use a program called iPod viewer when using another computer to transfer songs off the iPod onto the computer (or vice versa).

4. Thank you for this. Now, could you walk me through this process
in English? Really, talking only about one computer, two users, need access to iTunes for an iPod, there has got to be an easy way.

5. Sure!
1. Hook up both iPods

2. One will say "This iPod is linked to another iTunes Library. If you link to this iTunes Library, you will lose the current content on your iPod Continue? Yes No

3. Select Yes

4. When that iPod shows up on Devices, pick the option where it only syncs selected playlists unless you have 30G iPod or a really small music library

5. Choose "update iPod" from the pull-down iTunes menu

6. Rock and Roll!

6. Smooches to you! Thanks, and that's what I was looking for!
Sounds easy, but when you're clueless...and I'm also guilty at times!

7. Not a Matter of You Being Clueless - I Am The iTunes/iPod King!
or Queen, rather. I'm also pretty good with Audacity if you need any help with that!

iPod Viewer (a nifty free download for getting/putting stuff off an iPod onto a friend's computer without losing your iTunes library):
