Any body watching the IFC channel, there is a interesting movie called Last NIght.
The movie is about the last night of the earth due to the sun exploding and how people are dealing with it.

The movie will be repeated later in the early morning.

This is a interesting movie.

I would go to the beach myself, that is my favorite place to be.

1. I like "Last Night" a lot.
It is a thought provoking movie...what would you do on the last night on Earth? The people on Earth in the film know that the world will end at midnight....and they have various ways of coping with the finality of life. As I recall, Sandra Oh (from "Grey's Anatomy") is in it and she gave a wonderful performance.

Anyone who hasn't seen "Last Night" should check it out.

2. Very disturbing movie - but I'm glad I saw it
With a pre "Grey's Anatomy" Sandra Oh (when GA first came on, I said to S.O. "isn't that the woman from 'Last Night'?")

I like how he felt compelled to go to dinner at his parents' house.

3. I caught it the other night...
during a bout of insomnia -- not exactly the movie you want to see right before trying to go back to sleep. :D

At first I thought it a bit amateurishly done, but then it really grabbed me and I stuck with it. I continued to think about it for days afterwards, which is a sign of an effective movie. I liked how you were left wondering exactly what the cause of the coming cataclysm was throught the film -- it allowed for a truly surreal tone in regards to the characters.

Interestingly, the guy who played the son whose wife had died is the writer/director of the film.

4. I'm of the All-things-old-are-new-again school.
Iow, every generation, going back thousands of years, has to (RE-)discover things that each thinks is new.

I haven't seen the subject movie, but I'm thinking: BOCACCIO, Middle/Dark Ages, the Plague. And I can't imagine any NEW options for dealing with an impending, CERTAIN end than what THOSE people thought of: What, an abandonment to all sorts of taboos? Murder, lust, revenge---oh, and some SELFLESS things, too.

5. Big NIght is fun too
it's about food, though.

And not as apocalyptic. :silly:

6. Yeah, I saw that a few years ago - was it the sun though?
And forgot the name. Thank you. It is good. Did they really say the sun was blowing up though? I remember *fuzzily* that the world was ending and everyone knew why, but they didn't share the "why" with us viewers.

7. It's never explained why it happened.
Nor is there any chance of averting it. It's just taken for granted that the world will end at midnight.

8. Yeah, good thing the movie came out in the Clinton era
Otherwise, half of the people would have been unconcerned. Or shopping. Boring.
