Made in Thailand - ironic story.
My mother in law is a Thai national and periodically some of her Thai siblings would come to visit her here when she lived in the US. They would always request that she take them to the Dollar stores, so they could buy gifts for people back home. Funny thing is, pretty much everything sold in the Dollar stores is made in Thailand. Nothing like traveling untold thousands of miles and crossing like 12 timezones to bring back gifts that originated from your own homeland.

1. It follows the "Coffee in Columbia" pattern...
I read an article once (The situation may have changed since) about a journalist who couldn't
get a cup of coffee in Columbia. People there preferred tea and coffee was an export 'cash crop'.

Very odd, but, it happens quite frequently.
