Die-Hard Bears Fan Lost Bar Bet - He Must Change His Name To Peyton Manning

<snip>

DECATUR, Ill. -- He says he doesn't want to do it, but a die-hard Bears fan is changing his name to Peyton Manning.

Scotte Wiese told friends that if his beloved team didn't win the Super Bowl, he'd take the name of the Indianapolis Colts quarterback.

He even signed a petition in front of 200 people last week at Decatur's Katz Piano Bar promising that he'd do it.

After the Colts defeated the Bears 29-to-17 on Sunday, Wiese started the process.

The 26-year-old Forsyth, Illinois, man trudged to the Macon County Courts Facility Tuesday and filed the paperwork. The change still has to be approved by a judge.

Wiese said he really cares about the team and that his sacrifice represents the true passion of Bears fans.

3. Peyton Manning should get a say in this.
Just maybe he doesn't want some dumb ass barfly sharing his name.

8. Actually, no: *this* casts a dark shadow over all Bears fans.
Disclaimer: Reaction to what you are about to see from real Bears fans -- the DU variety -- has been uniformly negative. This fuckmook is no more representative of the breed than Moran Man is of Cards fans. Without further ado, then:

and a dishonorable mention to:

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

A number of my co-contributors on the NOLA blogs, from whence the above came (as well as the word "fuckmook"), are going to appreciate the name-change story very much!

13. Yup. Case in point: the Saints "home" opener in '05
held at Giants Stadium. The few fans who made it were subjected to taunts from the East Rutherford faithful, including "Hope you guys can swim!" and "I'm glad it happened!" Bear in mind, this was just a couple of weeks after it happened, while much of the city was still under water. Fuckmooks.

15. Damn...
I haven't seen this pictures...We were hit with a bad ice storm during this time of January(missed two weeks of playoff football), but when I came back online, I remember some loungers talking about these guys, but I didn't see any pictures, until now...utterly, disgusting.

16. Represents the true ignorance and assholery of a Bears fan
I would say.

What a fucking moran.

Though I have to say I'm surprised a Bears fan would actually have the integrity to follow through with it, so kudos to him for that. He'll probably ask the judge, though, not to let him have the name change and then tell his fat-assed drunken asshole friends, probably on some driving trip up in Wisconsin so they can throw their trash out the car windows, that the judge wouldn't let him change it.

19. lol
it's cool to have confidence in your team, but changing you name to something that cheesy is too big a risk for anyone to take...

I want to make a retroactive bet on Dallas in Super Bowl X...Now that I've lost, I will from the moment forward be known as "Mean" Joe Greene!B-)
