I've decided I need a bucket truck
I'll retire in a few years, and I'd like to travel a bit. Campers are nice, but for real recreation I think a bucket truck is the way to go. They're pretty cheap on ebay, and you can the convert the interior into a comfy camper. No matter what campground I choose I'll have the very best view available. I'd need to alter the bucket to fit two lawn chairs and an ice chest. Not a big job. The scenic panoramas and great photo opportunities alone would make the purchase worthwhile.

It would tow my sailboat easily, and never have trouble raising the mast. My wife and I could travel from town to town, doing good deeds, like rescuing kittens, and making roof repairs for old ladies.

There's even a possibility we'd be able to watch open air concerts and sporting events from outside the stadium. It could pay for itself!

I just don't see a downside to this!

BTW: Have you seen the ebay deals on firetrucks?!

3. Plus....
You could use it to get into places you normally wouldn't. Get you some magnetic signs that say, "ACME Utilities" and pretend your there to do maintenance.

Also, if you ever get stuck in traffic and want to know "WTF?" You just lift yourself up and see where and what the problem is.

6. or traffic jams...
I think I'd want a camera mounted on the bucket, so I can see what's what from the comfort of the cab (up periscope!!!). Just in case the traffic starts to move unexpectedly.

5. I'd freakin' love to have a firetruck ... or more specifically ...
... a fire rescue vehicle. I pass one in Tampa that is for sale every once in a while ... $13,000 ... a large fire rescue that looks like it could be gutted/converted into a neat camper.
