Name a little thing that brings you joy every day.
For me it's fennel toothpaste. I love fennel. Really love fennel. Twice a day I get two minutes of uninterrupted fennel flavor that get my mouth clean. It really makes me very happy, at least twice a day. That may sound silly, but it's amazing how much I miss it when we run out and have to use the awful backup toothpaste.

How about you?

:P

24. i take 5-7 of those little beauties every day. for the past 10 years...
and for as far into the future as i care to see.

with them, i can function fairly normally throughout the day, and you'd never know any better.

without- i'd be curled up in pain.

i started out on OxyRush for about a year, until my insurer found a way to cancel me- so my doc put me on methadone, because it was a lot cheaper(by a couple orders of magnitude, at least). i'm back to being insured-thru my wife's job- but i've stuck with the methadone.

the real aggravation- i have to get a NEW handwritten script from the doctor EVERY month- no refills, no phoning it in to the pharmacy. the law doesn't allow it, and i have no choice but to jump thru each hoop they put in my path.

had a breakin at my ground-floor apartment, and had to stay there until I was able to move.

A friend lent me her fierce little Corgi, who laid on the floor, facing the window where the burglar came in. Made me feel so much more secure.

70. We had hummers at our old house
We were near a natural area, and the little old lady down the way did up her garden to attract them. We hung two feeders in the spring, and it was great fun to watch the crazy little guys buzz around. We got three different kinds: Rufous, Ruby-throated, and Calliope. We lived right on the edge of each one's range. Those Rufous ones could be pretty fierce.

72. We get a lot of Anna's hummers
They sing the most of any hummer and boy oh boy! do they ever protect 'their' feeders.
We've also planted bushes and trees that flower to attract more hummingbirds. They're here all year round.
I often get the feeling they're as interested in us as we are in them.
The craziest thing I've ever seen is a hummingbird chasing a hawk. Those little birds are fearless.

59. Not every day, but the professional sax player at the train station
He's really talented, and just does it to pick up some extra cash (his sax case is always full of dollar bills and quarters, where I never see ANYONE giving anything to the annoying electric guitar player at the other end of the station)

He always plays something appropriate to the season, with a little extra swing. He even made that excerable "Fly Eagles Fly" song sound good last month.

One morning in March, I came around the corner (I was wearing green), and he broke into "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". Makes slogging into the city for work bearable.

I always give him a dollar, even if it means not buying my V8 that morning.

81. Waking up in...
very warm, very soft flannel sheets. :loveya:

I have them on my bed around 95% of the year and they are just so damn wonderful, I can hardly stand it. Most days there are only two things that will get me out of their delicious embrace: work or a full bladder. :P
