On the other hand, that movie made about him, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love, the Frankie Lymon Story" is one of the most profoundly disturbing and sad movies I have ever seen. Probably the most accurate portrayal of the stages of addiction I have ever seen, just heartbreaking.

Halle Berry plays one of his wives, she plays the lead singer of The Platters, whom he was involved with, well, he married her. Vivica Fox plays his first wife. And I think it is Nia Long that plays his third wife, but I might be wrong about that actress. He had no divorces so when he passed away and the will was read it became a court battle. In essence you go in there expecting it to be funny, three wives, ha ha, and they do this amazing story of his life, and the way they show the progression of his addiction is flawless, because they do not glamourize it one iota but instead show it for the human tragedy that it is. There are some seriously rough moments in there, though, including one where he kills his first wife's dog by throwing it out the window of a high rise apartment. That scene broke my heart; if I'd known it was in there I'd have never, ever seen that movie. It's probably the best movie about addiction I've ever seen, though.
