Astronaut's arraignment hearing live on CNN.
She has the 'deer-in-the-headlights' look.
"Oh. My. God. What am I doing here?"
If she did what she's accused of she is one messed up lady.
Reminds me of the one maddy McCall has been posting about here.

I can only imagine what kind and how many psychological test she had to take to become an astronaut.
Plus a naval academy grad.
Makes you wonder.

24. thank you
I was just having this conversation w/ a co-worker.

the 3rd story on GMA this morning was that your kids are riding on a school bus and the bus driver is talking on the cell phone while driving.

The 2nd story is that $12 billion is missing from the money that was supposed to go to Iraq.

And the top story is some love triangle between astronauts.?????????

4. Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering...
Her list of accomplishments is endless.

She had a life many of us dream of.

Her future was bright....

Then she pushed the self-destruct button.

What a waste, what a tragedy.

10. Ah...GLAAD.
Gay And Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
I'm not sure I saw anything defaming to gays and lesbians in the commercial.
I did see a lot of 'dumb'.
;-)

14. Well, I'm glad for that
It was pising off a lot of people.

Personally, I never saw the commercial; only heard about it second hand.

9. My secretary asked me if Astronauts don't have to take tests...
"Mental Stability Tests" to use her term. Me: Geez, you'd think so. I guess there's no role play section about how you'd react if your biggest crush astronaut is seeing someone else.

18. There is a psych test
But the question is what does it select for?

Remember, all of these astronauts are uber achievers; driven to get what they want, every time. They are also not risk averse, and not afraid to die.

Normal people would probably wash out on the psych test, simply because they are afraid to climb onto a complex piece of machinery, built by the lowest bidder, loaded with several hundred thousand pounds of explosive materials, while somebody lights a fire underneath it.

Edited on Tue Feb-06-07 06:33 PM by trof
Ooooo...it's the LEAD!
"If it bleeds, it leads."
Unless it's an astronaut charged with attempted kidnapping and murder wearing diapers and a wig.

You COULD NOT make this shit up.

16. sounds like an Onion article. At least the diaper part.
There was something else a few weeks ago that sounded like it came from onion. I do not recall exactly what it was though, but now it's going to bug me until I figure it out.

17. Sounds like she went off the rails because she was hot for the guy....
and didn't like competition. A truly weird story. One that is on the news because it is sensational. Also because NASA has long had such a squeaky clean reputation, although DUer XNASA would probably howl with laughter at the naivete of that statement.

21. Jeezus, there's a part of me that feels bad for her.
She made an incredibly stupid series of mistakes that she's gonna pay for with the rest of her life. Her marriage is ruined, her family is betrayes, her career is shot, she's been publically humiliated on a national scale....ugh.

We've all made mistakes, but because she's an astronaut, it's getting played out on national tv.

Still, she should've known better.

I hope she and her family can find peace, down the road.

26. Usually I detest crime stories in the news;
you know, the whole "it may be extremely significant for the participants, but doesn't really need my informed input" type of thing.

But this is so bizarrely hilarious I have to follow it.

And yes, I feel sad for all the parties, but the diapers and wig in a trenchcoat with a BB gun thing. That funny!
