Has anyone here ever been to an Animae Convention before?

My two kids (both teenagers) asked if they could go to one in april in Boston. jWhat are they like. Is it worth the thirty bucks they would spend.

Do you mean Anime, like the Japanese cartoons? I can only imagine what such a convention would be like: a lot of sexy schoolgirls with big round blinking eyes wandering around, probably. If your teens are boys, they'll come back men. Sounds like it's worth thirty bucks to me!

His friends, now that they are older, are getting into managing them.

It's a mostly harmless hobby but at a convention I guarantee you they will come across a few hentai booths. (Don't google hentai at work...it's cartoon porn pretty much) The operators are usually good about not letting underage folks see that stuff. If you let them go, explain that you expect them to avoid hentai and inspect their purchases when they come home.
