Yeah, I know, what else is new, right? But anyway, my high school has this pageant where a guy represents each club, in talent, sportswear and evening wear. So I've been in it for the past three years, and I've always done a song parody. This year, I had a parody of Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes" (a song I normally wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole)about a guy who cops a fake insanity plea (sort of "Weird Al's 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'"). I rehearse with it for two weeks, and on the afternoon before the pageant, the director axes it. Says it's in poor taste. Fortunately, I was able to find another parody in my backlog that a friend of mine knew the chords for. But STILL. Okay, there's my self-indulgent bitching for the day.
