I'd have to say the topping I see the least often, that is really soooo goood on pizza is shrimp.

Really.

Shrimp is way better than anchovies on pizza.

Got to sample some at Veg-fest in Boston a few months ago.

There's one brand I've been using, and I can't for the life of me remember the name, I just know the label. It's not bad at all (and comes in cheddar, jack and mozzarella varieties).

The tofu is stir fried in General Tso's sauce. I don't think my local eatery uses lard, though I never thought to ask. Yikes! That would kill the point of eating tofu, wouldn't it?!

Damn, basil is so effin' good!

My wonderful Italian wife and I make two kinds of pizza, both with whole wheat crust:

1) Fresh basil, olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella. The basil and mozzarella are put on after the pie is removed from the oven.
2) Pesto, garlic, mushrooms, steamed broccoli, and grated mozzarella.

Eat either. Your mouth will thank you for it.

89. When I lived in Columbus, OH
all you had to do to add banana peppers to a pizza was ask for hot peppers. When I moved here to Oklahoma and ordered a pizza with hot peppers, I got home and found it had jalepeno's on it. LOL Very few places down here have banana peppers. Very few places down here have good pizza at all, fewer than very few, actually, so we make our own at home.

85. Fresh, chopped garlic
A few places have it, but usually I have to add it myself.

There's a great place for shrimp on your pizza in Detroit-Pizzapapolis.

My new favorite topping for homemade pizza. Never seen it in any restaurant, though. I'm ahead of my time.

101. Water Chestnuts.
There's nothing crunchier than a water chestnut and they tend to take on the flavor of the dish they're in.
