crystal deodorant sticks .. does anyone use them?

I'm thinking of trying these but I have no idea as to whether or not they work. Has anyone used this and if so any adverse reaction? ie: skin irritation etc.

1. They're awesome.

Some come with a scent. I've been using them for years. And they last forever, as long as you don't drop them. You're screwn if you drop them.

4. All brands are pretty much the same. Try Whole Foods or Wild Oats.

They have more variety. I switch back and forth. The one that comes in the little basket lasts forever. As an antiperspirant-sometimes they work, depends on your body, I guess. They work for me. Sometimes you have to wait for your body to adjust to them...get rid of the stuff other deodorants have put into your skin.

13. If I'm talking about the same thing as everyone else, they do not have

aluminum and also are not crystal. They are made from highly compressed salts, and work by leaving a thin film of those salts behind, which kill the bacteria that are the cause of pit-stink. They will also work in other places where the odor we incorrectly associate with sweat.

They work very well and an application will last for 10 - 14 hours easily. Did you know sweat has no odor itself?

15. That was the brand I tried as well

I got it at Costco years ago because it was such a great deal...$6.99 or so for 2. Bummer that it didn't end up working for me, so that was $6.99 for about a 1 month supply.

10. I've used them for a decade - in 10 years, I've bought three.

And I would still be on my second one if I hadn't kept dropping it and smashing pieces off it.

It's the only way 0 - since 1997, I've spent $12 on my main deodorant, and put nothing in the landfills. (though for long distance travel, I still use plastic encased, because I haven't found something yet that will let me travel with crystal without smashing it)

14. I tried one brand and hated it

As deoderants go, it did the job, but did NOT work as an antiperspirant at all. If you don't need that particular function, it would probably be OK. For me, and this is gross, so be warned, it left my underarm area continually moist enough that I developed an itchy, yeasty, disgusting rash, that I had to use medication to get rid of. It was pretty unpleasant, so I'll never go back. Nothing like a product that makes you want to scratch your underarms all day long!

16. Amazing actually

They work well, surprisingly. They help with odor but not with sweat, just btw. I have read that it's not really that good to suppress your sweat. It is a natural cleansing response of your body. Some even think suppressing sweat is linked to some lymphatic cancers. Of course, everything is linked to some kind of cancer, right? <g>

They do help with the odor.
