a semi trailer (with no truck attached) has appeared on the road which leads to mine. It is a giant billboard of "The few, the proud, the Marines" complete with pic (covers both sides) of young studly Marines in dress blues. Why is it there? Hmmm. Many school buses go up and down that road. Just found it weird. Just appeared one day. I mean we don't usually have semi trailers just sitting by the side of the road...

4. It's an awful expensive way to advertise, they'd seriously do better

dragging up and down the streets. There's lots of reasons why it could be there

It could be there because the Marines are idiots
It could be there because some recruiter is planning something spectacular
It could be there because someone is going to graduate from high-school and join the Marines and finally get honored for doing so - instead of going to the announced college
It could be there because someone is going to graduate from high-school and they're going to truck him off before anyone can ask to see the signature

It could be there because it's been deemed un-road-worthy
It could be there because the driver has PTSD and dumped it
It could be there because there's a secret NSA operation drilling down below it to tap into your Internet connection
It could be there because Marines love rain, and splashing through a puddle made them stop for awhile to see if it happened again
It could be there because the roof is a giant mirror positioned for laser warfare against Iranian nukes
It could be there because it's going to send up the most amazing SuperBowl half-time fireworks show you've ever seen

It could be there because the Navy put it there to fuck with you

but I think we finally figured it out.

We live at an oceanfront marina which fills up with snowbirds this time of year, in giant Winnebagos. We noticed a semi cab the other day, complete with sleeper. Never seen that here before... But maybe he drops the trailer down the road and then comes here to hang out. :shrug:. Hey great place to hang out: a bar, the ocean, lost of friendly folks. He is sleeping in the the sleeper cab, because it's here in the mornings.

But I wonder what is INSIDE the trailer.

12. This one just has a group of Marines

in full dress blues with rifles looking serious and Marine-like. But it takes up the entire side of the trailer. Very impressive actually. But all I could think was, yeah, the FEW - and getting fewer every day.

As for Monster's ability to find job leads for you, that site has given me the most inquiries from employers than any other place out there. No one comes close.
