Baby shampoo won't sting eyes, but will it burn an open wound?
Mom had surgery behind her ear, her hair needs to be washed -- and the surgeon says its gonna hurt like hell when shampoo hits the open area. Anybody have experience with this sort of thing?
1. The only thing that doesn't sting is normal saline solution
(water with salt added so it is like the saltiness of our bodily fluids). It is made by adding a teaspoon of table salt to a quart of warm water. If you are going to help her wash her hair maybe you could have a quart bottle of it to pour on the area as soon as possible to rinse if it stings, and try to keep the baby shampoo suds thick enough so you can avoid the wound while washing the rest of her hair.
