My city spent $200K and 6 months coming up with this LAME slogan....

(for Anchorage, Alaska)

"Big Wild Life"

Two hundred thousand bucks for that...

It replaces what I thought was a pretty cool slogan.. "Wild about Anchorage" which included a dancing moose, polar bear and other arctic animals that rocked out to a very kewl song about why they (the animals) were "wild about Anchorage"

If you're bored and feel like DU'ing a poll.. can you tell our local NBC affiliate what you think of the new slogan? They'll be reporting the results on the 10:00 p.m. news here. (We're 4 hours earlier than the east coast.. it's 7:55 p.m. right now.

And if you actually like it.. .. that's ok too..

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

1. It doesn't look like many people like it.
What do you think of the city's new brand, "Big Wild Life"?
Thank you for participating in our poll. Here are the results so far.
Really good slogan - 21%
Try, try again - 76%
I don't know - 3%

2. Thank you so much VR.. you're my first ever lounge response!!

I don't venture into the lounge too often because everything I post sinks like a lead balloon..

I know the poll is boring.. (sorry.. another dumb idea) but the city really will have a cow when they see the news results tonight! (Trust me.. they will see it and the results will even make the Anchorage Daily News tomorrow)

I'll remember "VenusRising" forever!!!!!! My first ever lounge response.

Thanks guys ~ see you!

10. Awww.
I'm so glad I could make you happy, larissa. Don't feel bad about your posts sinking, either. It happens to me all the time. And don't stay away from the Lounge for that reason. There are lots of very friendly people around, but it takes getting to know people.

I didn't think the poll was all that boring. I've seen worse polls with worse results.

4. You tell them to come see me when it's time to change slogans again.
I'll still charge 200,000 bucks for a new slogan, but I won't waste six months coming up with it.

A gift from me, and I won't charge your city fathers anything for it. Haven't spent much time there, except at the airport going to/coming from Valdez.

13. Maybe the contractor was thinking about the male prostitute at the time...

But your city isn't the only one to waste $200k on something so... bland and obvious. Especially when people with talent are out there who might even do it for less.

15. I never understood paying a consulting firm for crap like this. The college I went
to paid over $1 million dollars to some firm to remake their mascot only to have them rip off the Jacksonville Jaguars and survey one hundred students about the name change.

Next time they want a new slogan, tell them to call me. I'll do it for half that. I've even got one "It's a Wild, Wild Life" It has all the elements. 1) it's fun 2) It has Wild in it 3) It rips off somebody else. Awesome.

17. It beats "Escape to Wisconsin"
when I was a kid, we would often deface the billboards and bumper stickers by crossing out the middle word.
