we're trying to buy a house (our first), and I'm freaking out a little bit.
We're going to make an offer on a place I reeeally want, if the appraisal goes alright tomorrow, but I need a speck of good luck for that to happen.

The house is ideal and cheap enough that we can actually afford it. It also has carpet in one of the upstairs bedrooms that I'm pretty sure is made from Grover, or a similar-looking muppet.

get a home inspection, no matter what the Realtor tells you. It shouldn't cost more than $300.00 and can save you HUGE money if there is any problem with the home. Good luck!!!

Oh, we definitely will! My husband works at an architectural/

engineering firm, and could tell quite a bit about the house when we went through it, but that's no substitute for a trained, professional eye.
