1. ...with Elvis Costello's voice, at that.
I received "I'm the Man" on vinyl as a gift a few years back, and the first time I listened to it, I kept thinking, Did Elvis Costello sing or write some of these songs?, specifically "It's Different for Girls." Nope, just a kindred voice in a dorkier appearance.

3. Joe Jackson -- Best concert I've ever seen.
Red Rocks amphitheater back in the 90s, when "Blaze of Glory" came out. Huge group of friends, and we got there early enough to snag seats dead center, about 15 rows up.

The first set was "Blaze of Glory" uninterrupted (even on the album the songs segue into each other). Then an intermission. Second set was nothing but greatest hits. Seems like the show went on forever, and there wasn't a bum note or letdown the whole way.

That being said, Ben Folds still rocks. Good on 'im.

7. I got chills the 1st time I heard the slow version of "Hometown"
It was originally a fast-paced, peppy little jingle, but for some reason he slowed it down into a ballad, and it's gorgeous.

I've seen him live about 8 times, and am constantly amazed by the beauty of his music.

I don't know why he doesn't draw bigger audiences than he does now.
