Most commercials suck big-time, but those commercials just crack me up!

26. It's great.

It covers the topic;

peripheral videocams vs. built in ones.

I love these commercials, too.

3. Let me guess: you use a Mac?
Personally, I think they play too heavily to Mac-users impressions of Windows to be very effective - it's preaching to the choir. It's like liberal jokes about RWers or vice versa I suppose): funny to the target audience but no one else will get it...

6. Well, then you're just weird...
:)

I think they're not bad as commercials go - certainly there are far worse - but I don't think they'll be effective in terms of growing Mac's market share, mainly because the caricature of the PC experience won't ring true for PC-users who might otherwise be tempted to switch. It's funny to Mac users (and you), but I can't imagine the ads drumming up much new business...

7. Commercials are weird. Sometimes, even the most annoying
ones will bring in business.

As to my sense of humor, well.....

There's absolutely NO explanation for it!

9. I'm not sure they are trying to get new business with the ads.. Maybe a little..
With Apple they need to energize the base sometimes. Cult of Mac. They might just want to keep the current customers interested.

I'm talking out my ass. I don't know for a fact. Just something to think about.

14. You'd have to be a door knob
Not to get it.

It's anything but preaching to the choir. Mac users hardly need to be reminded they are using a superior product.

The PC guy should be much uglier and more obese.

27. I'm not that easily lead. I'm a Mac user because of my job but my husband works
on PCs and we don't have any great war over it. They both have their pluses and minuses. I just like the ads because they're funny. John Houseman is awesome and I've always liked the kid from Ed.

He's the lead in this "Animal House" rip-off, and kind of cute if you go for his slackerish charm.

21. I'm with you,
If you try too hard to look like a slacker--you ain't a slacker. Trying takes effort, ergo you could be slackin' harder!

Plus, I live in the Uptown section of Minneapolis and I see dudes wearing that uniform all the damn time; I must admit to getting tired of everybody trying to be individual in EXACTLY the same way as EVERYBODY in their peer group.

I know this was a rant that was tangentially related to the OP at best, but it is a main reason why I hate those damn commercials.

22. I've never found them funny or entertaining
just my sense of humor, I guess.

John Hodgeman is vastly funnier on the Daily Show, and really wasted in these ads, though I'm sure he doesn't mind the paycheck.

but they just reinforce the fact that I'm a PC guy.
