Ever feel the need to just flee, get away?
Even just for a few hours...?

I came home from work and I just couldn't stand being in the house in the 'burbs with the fighting kids, barking dog, and the "wife."

I packed my shoulder bag and walked out, and am now in the city sitting at a cafe having a cheese and tomato quessadilla and a vitamin water, and killing time, might write a bit too. Meeting friends later for coffee.

Sometimes you just need to get away...

1. Uhm...almost every day!!
However, my dreams of "fleeing" have been to flee this country. I have this urge to live abroad for awhile... my wife's not buying it.

2. Sure ... it's a normal thing
And it is good to honor it from time to time by doing exactly what you are doing. Everyone needs to recharge the emotional/spiritual batteries from time to time.

I moved back into the house for financial reasons. I have my own room on a different floor.

5. Often.
But when you walk with crutches, and you have to pack meds whereever you go, and there are logistics to worry about...

It's hard to get away without some planning. :(

Heh...yeah, I know. The kids have a way of being a whole lot sweeter when you're away from them for a little while.

Hang in there...tomorrow'll be better. And, even if it's not, you've still got us.

13. Every day...
But, where would I go?

By the time "dh" gets home, I'm so tired, I just want to crawl into bed and go to sleep. I'm sick right now too, so that's not helping much.

I wish I could go away. :(

16. Ah, my dear Retro.........
But where would I go?

I have nowhere to go.......

And no-one who would take me in.......

I'm working it out, right here.....

But, baby, do I ever hear you......

But really, even if you do succeed in going physically.......

You still have all the mental/emotional garbage inside.....

And that you always have, no matter where you are......

30. Sometimes, for me, driving is part of the problem...
"Mom, can I get a ride to...."

"Mom, can you pick me up from..."

"Mom, I need to be at..."

"Mom, can you bring me..."

Not to mention doctor's appointments, shopping, errands...sometimes I feel like I spend more time in my car than I do anywhere else.

33. I understand
everyone has something they need to flee from. For me, it's quiet and loneliness of the house. I feel like a caged animal and need to get out, even if it's just for a short trip down the interstate.
