She plays the violin.

;)

The 4th graders go first, then the 5th graders, then the chorus.

1. I'd get pretty drunk, were I you.
There are violin lessons here at the church on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. That's when I do my hospital and nursing home visiting. There is no sound in the universe like that of a beginning violin student.

4. Oh, you have that right
A friend of mine's first post-college job as a music teacher was as a revolving sub in elementary school orchestra. By way of support, I went to his first spring concert. It was the most painful two hours I ever spent in my life.

2. I loved watching my daughter's fourth grade piano recital.
She dropped piano after that, so it was the last time I got to see her perform anything. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

5. But a piano key makes the same sound, whether hit by Van Cliborn
or a 4th grader. Not so the strings of a violin.

8. A daughter is a daughter, whether she's playing the violin or the piano.

3. Drunk enough that you throw up on the principal and then hit on her. Or him.
Whatever.

And then expose yourself.

6. That would take the attention off the caterwauling happening onstage. nt
