I'm temporarily here again, Lounge - I could use your company.
Why? Because it's 10:30 pm here, and I have been filling out internet forms for eight straight hours now, and the computer just set me back sixty-seven pages in order to change ONE WORD.

That's right, sixty-seven pages. One word.

There is of course, only one thing that can cheer me up now - the company of my old friends, the DU Lounge Lizards.

(Before you ask, assembled crowd, the reason the forms are so long and tortous is that I am applying to get the Australian equivalent of welfare from the government, and they do not like giving people money. I have typed my address so many times I cant tell if it is supposed to be spelled 'road' or 'raod')

So how is everyone? :)

3. Well, they're no longer threatening property... sort of. They're still burning though.
I can't remember how much was burnt though - I can't remember anything now, I'm too burnt out from these forms - seven kinds of wednesday tired, to put it in a way that makes no sense. :)

10. LOL! That works!
Ye cats, it sounds like those forms are crazymaking. Good luck! Evening there and morning here -- that's always so weird. Funnily enough I'm going to be over there in a bit, in Melbourne. It'll be fun to have some summer in the middle of winter!

13. Melbourne? You LUCKY, LUCKY....
awwwww, don't mind me, I have to endure a summer where it drops below 90 F ...... sometimes even before 8:00 pm . :(

At least I hear the weather is great in Melbourne this time of year. :)

17. Haha, I'm from Texas.
During the summer here, sometimes it can be midnight and still over 90 F!

I love it, though. I can't stand the cold. I have this antique drafty house and it has been down in 20/30s F the last couple of weeks and I have been miserable. I need to get new windows! :scared: It's cold! How cold does it get in the winter where you are?

18. HAHA, I beat you for the heat. You just can't compete with Aussies.
If we go to 'sometimes' then we get that easily.... with 90% or higher humidity. The air is sticky.

As for winter, one time when I was young there was a cold snap so bitter it got to 31 F .

In other words, we don't get a cold winter.

But really, don't try to go weather for weather against an Aussie. We have 8 year droughts, times when 99% of the state was in drought (an area a bit less than a quarter the size of the US mainland, I think) In fact, the during the drought it suddenly rained like anything, and caused a flood. It was not enough water to wet the earth, it was that dry. It did not break the drought.

And I live in a nice place for the weather.

OH F*CK, now I think about it, the much bigger issue is that millions of people are actually going to run out of water in the next couple of years. It's really not looking good here. The whole of Adelaide (amongst other places) is going to run out of water. :( :( :( :(

Why hasn't the government started large-scale desalination projects like the Saudis?

anonymous tip. It might be a top U.S. Official... or it might be my calendar. I can't say. :)

:) Seriously, great to hear your doing well!

So, have you suceeded in your plan to turn the south of Britain into a giant amusement park made of candied apples and sunshine?

The next option, of course, is get a nuclear weapon and demand that you give it back.

11. Tenacious? Thanks! May I complement you on your extra-ordinary command of the english
type-seven typewriter? (hehehe, just kidding, I mean "english language")

So, you use Aussie slang, so I will attempt to respond with the kind of language I hear from Americans. :) I know their language good, I heard this stuff at that NRA meeting...

Thanks for your- WATCH OUT TERRISTS EVERYWHERE ARRGH- kind and wise words -AARGH IF GAYS GET MARRIED THE WORLD WILL BE OVERRUN BY NAZIS RIDING DINOSAURS- they mean a lot to me. :)

But all good things must come to an end, and since the computer said "ERROR" and stopped on the last page - the ACTUAL LAST PAGE YOU PIGS WHO RUN THE SERVICE - I'm taking a break. It's almost midnight, I have been going since 2:00 pm, so I need to sleep.

Goodnight, dear bridgit! :hug::loveya:

What a pleasant surprise. I was just thinking about you the other day, and here you are! So nice to see you. I think you deserve some

Good luck on your paperwork filing. Our government doesn't like to give money away either, at least not to people who truly need it.

15. AMUN! HORUS! SETH! ISIS! ANUBIS! OSIRIS!
So, why are we chanting Egyptian gods' names? Can we use the Aten (as in, the religion of Amenophis III, as in Akenaten, who settled at Akataten) or do you consider that heresy?

The pleasant suprise is mine, SimplyFugue.... how is Clinticles? Did he come back?

And for your time,, and because I think great things of you, another . :)

19. Clint pops by
but every so briefly. I seemed to have missed him the last time. He's busy at the store, and from what I understand, his life is very hectic. Poor guy.

Btw, I don't think I've ever spewed Egyptian gods' names! Huh . . . is there something wrong with me?

21. Ah, I see... that "RA" was actually some kind of coded, subtle reference
to my screen name.

Given it is the name of the Egytpian Sun God, I naturally assumed that I had wandered into an Egypt-God Name Saying contest with the grand prize bieng the chance to watch the Bolivian Navy on maneuvres in the South Pacific and a slice of cake.

As anyone would. :)

On a (genuinely) sadder note, it's not good that poor Clint has had such the time of it.

Ah well, hope for the better, as they say, is not as good as having a diamond the size of the Mama Cass, but is better than nothing and all that I can really send from here. :(
