good forums (an arbitrary post)

i like democratic underground the most. i get to read some really articulate people here, most of them with a great sense of ironic humor, and it has helped me understand america more than vonnegut, stevie king, and howard zinn put together. there are no morons here, like some people claim america is full of. the morons, as far as i am concerned, huddle together in forums like freerepublic.
lately, i've been visiting smirkingchimp, i find the discussions there as good as DU. really intelligent people posting on that forum. actually, fess up folks - how many DUers also post in smirkingchimp?
finally, to see the stark difference in the intelligence of progressive americans and rightwingnuts, i make it a point to check the comments section in washingtonpost.com articles. check it out sometime. there's a person posting regularly there called VulcanTX, and s/he's such a fucking idiot, one who thinks just because s/he can type means s/he is einstein reincarnated.
