Any Denver folks want to join me in an anti-snow dance?
I've always loved snow, until this year. Just when I think the snowpack is about to start melting we get hit again. Over and over and over and over and over. It's getting very old.

Come, we dance for the snow gawds. Give us a damn break would ya! :woohoo: :banghead: :headbang: :bounce:

1. I'm With You

My wife and I just moved to Denver, right in the midst of The Winter From Hell. Wish I had a ten dollar bill for every long-time Denverite who's told me that this winter is really atypical, that most winters are not nearly this bad, that you have to go back decades to find a winter this grim, etc., etc. I believe them.

Let the dance begin.

2. I've been here for about 7 years..
and the way it usually works is it'll snow hard for a day or two, then the sun will come out and melt the snow over the next few days. This winter is exactly like a typical mountain town winter, the snowpack is going nowhere until at least March.

I wish my dogs would understand that all this cold white stuff isn't my fault.

6. I've lived here for 26 years.
Been through many blizzards. But I can't remember so many storms back to back. We are now in another snow & blowing snow advisory here and a blizzard warning to the east. My street is a glacier. My dogs have cabin fever. I'm starting to go nuts.

4. It really used to be a lot more like this
I've lived in Colorado my whole life, and when I was a kid in the early '90s it snowed more often than not. January, for some reason, was usually quite nice, but December, February, March and April usually featured regular snow. Not feet of snow like we've had recently, but regular, predictable snow every few days. Plus, it also used to rain almost every afternoon at around 3pm in Colorado Springs. We don't get that so much anymore, unfortunately.

5. Yea, I loved the daily evening storms..
They stoped two years after I moved here.

Maybe it's all my fault? :wow:

3. Here's a trick I learned in Buffalo.
Tie a snow shovel to the front of your car and start driving south. When people ask, "What's that thing on the front of your car?", stop. You've gone far enough.

And your "tie a snow shovel to the front of your car" trick - fantastic!

8. Yea, I have a neighbor who is from Buffalo
He says this is all very familiar, but not quite as cold and grey as Buffalo can get.
