Does Joe Pesci sleep with the fishes?

Just browsing imdb.com and came across Joe Pesci's listing. He hasn't worked since 1998! Man, didn't it seem like he was in every movie for about 8 years or so? Now, there's no trace of him anywhere.

Do you think this is retribution for Billy Batts? :shrug:
