How many Oscars will "Talladega Nights" win?

I saw it this weekend on DVD.

I have to watch it again (a third time) because I kept laughing over jokes.

Perfectly paced too. Never went to weird or to nasty for the sake of either. The out takes show that they were writing on the fly. The part about the "baby Jesus" grace with Cal saying " I see him as an ice dancer doing an routine based on my life's journey" had me in tears (it was something like that). Very well written and perfectly cast.

with Gary Cole, Jane Lynch, Michael Clark Duncan, and John C.Reilly.

"Here let's use this knife to pry the other knife out of his leg"

Do yourself a favor and watch it. And save time to go through all the extras. Too funny.

Oh one last thing-this does make fun of the NASCAR fans and the whole thing. There is no way it isn't meant that way, of course the NASCAR fans I know said (almost like they had promised to) that they liked the movie, it was great, good for NASCAR and all.

6. Even if it won all the stupid awards no one cares about...
It'd be nowhere near enough.

2. I watched it on Sat night
I thought I would like it more than I did. A few bits were funny, but not many. Maybe I need to know more about Nascar or something.

3. Absolutely hysterically funny movie.
My son got the unedited version for Christmas. Hilarious. Like you, I had to repeat some scenes to hear what was being said.

That praying to little baby Jesus was too funny.

5. "When you two stop tossing Grandma the radio when she is in the bathtub"
The outtake line there is even funnier.

Oh my God I thought I was going to wake up Josie about 80 times watching that movie.

7. I thought it was perfectly funny...
Just enough tongue in cheek and subtle puns along with the hilarious parts. Will Ferrel running around in his underwear was just histerical. Sacha Baron Cohen and Andy Ricter were hilarious also.

11. "I threw Granddad Chip's war medals off a bridge"
Did Applebee's really see the script before they signed on or is anything associated with NASCAR considered good PR?

10. NASCAR has a sense of humor
Obviously they knew the movie was making fun of NASCAR and NASCAR fans, but for a while after it came out you could get Ricky Bobby souvenirs from the NASCAR.com online store.

12. Yes apparently so
I didn't mean that in a "ooh they got one over on them" way (should have written that better).

I have been to a race but the bright product placement was almost overpowering.

14. There is an 18-wheeler with Ricky Bobby souvenirs that is at the races
I live right around Lowe's Motor Speedway and Ricky Bobby had his own trailer!

That movie was hysterical! "Snow blindness in cats. It scares the hell outta me."

The scene where Ricky is saying grace is absolutely hilarious. I saw this in the theater with several friends who aren't NASCAR fans or Southerners and we all laughed.

Funny, funny movie.
