Can you use DVD - Rs to burn just a music cd?

1. I don't think so..

... a DVD is not the same as a CD even though they look the same.

If you could convince your Burner software to burn audio files on to a DVD, your CD player wouldn't be able to read it anyway.

2. Yes you can, but you could not play it in a regular CD player

It would have to be played in a DVD player

3. Most DVD drives will burn CD-R

Check the specs on your drive.
