15. All I hear are insects -- crickets and such - kind of ear piercing, actually
earlier, I thought I heard the grumble of the big male when he was present.

(It's just habit around here with my two kittens...)

She did literally flop, too, huh?

22. We had three -- until the day before Thanksgiving
when my precious Gracie decided to slip out when company came in and we haven't seen her since, sadly, despite our everyday searches (hate to say, but we do have coyotes and raccoons in the area behind our house). She was adoptive MaMa cat to my two kittens -- they miss her, too, me thinks.

Anyway, it is amazing how these little guys act like the wild big cats. One of my kittens was very sick when we adopted her, unbeknownst to us at the time. She came down with an upper respiratory infection that almost took her life, and it seems to have stunted her growth, and she's awkward in her gate. But, she attacks my kids' little stuffed animals and drags them around just like the big cats I've seen on nature programs doing to the zebras! She's hysterical! We call her Killer for short, although she is named Pepper because she has spots -- she's a spotted Tabby. She's the hunter. Her brother, Cay, short for Cayenne, a long-haired orange tabby -- he's the lazy one.

There they are! Drinking at the watering hole! Cool.

24. We have similar kitty histories
Actually, my youngest cat Jack had a respiratory infection when we got him and his growth has also been stunted, but he is a little hellion! As for your missing cat, don't give up. Our oldest cat got out on easter a few years ago...after several weeks of searching we gave up..all the sudden one night our other cats were going nuts. My son looked outside and saw Champ running up the driveway and onto the porch...He found his way home eventually!
