I may be embarking on a new phase in my life (alone) and it is scary. The prospect of going back to school with kids 20 yrs younger than I is scary, that being out of the work force for 10 years is scary - who would want to hire me, who is going to want to start a relationship with a middle-aged woman with three youngish children, very scary.

How do I not care?

I've been a stay at home day for 10 years now. The youngest is now in first grade and I should be looking for something to do while the kids are at school, but no longer no what to do.

as a New Beginning in a different direction on your path of life. Always, always, ALWAYSBELIEVE IN YOURSELF! keep the faith in yourself that you can do this. You'll find the inner strength to see it through. Just think of the person you are today... and look forward to being the person you never thought or dreamed you could be. I speak from personal experience on this....

As far as being a middle-aged woman with youngish kids... you shouldn't have any problems at all. I've been a single father for over 10 years now. My kids are 13 & 14. Women my age (43) run like hell when they find out how young my kids are. Most of them around here my age have kids that are already grown and gone, and they are looking to party/travel/be free/etc.,etc.... or they're drunks/meth-heads/pill heads/etc., etc, etc...
