How pathetic am I? I'm thrilled because Publix just opened a new store a mile from my house.

THRILLED! It made my fucking DAY, dudes. I've been counting the days til they opened. Man, if that's all it takes to turn me into a grinning fool, I have crossed over into old people land.

1. Is that like what we in Chicago call a "Currency Exchange"?
Where you can cash checks and buy money orders and wire money?

5. Honey, when the Wal-Mart supercenter opened in my town,
they had to run a SHUTTLE for customers to get there, because the (huge) parking lot was so full.

THAT was pathetic.

8. It's a NEW Publix store. That means
it'll have the bigger Greenways/organic section and expanded beer cooler.

Jeebus, but that rocks.

10. Publix is a supermarket.
They are competing with Whole Foods which is about 1/4 mile down the road. Publix had lots of organic stuff and free samples (chocolate cake with raspberry filling muthafuckas!) I'm weeping with joy. Well, not that emotional, but I don't have to drive 3 miles and 1/2 hour to the other Publix. Yippee!!!!

12. My moms lives right across the street from Publix.
Her condo is close enough for the green light from their sign to shine in the bedroom window at night. It is one of the main reasons I visit, which is truly sad...

15. I remember going to the Publix with my
mom when we visited her in Punta Gorda...

The Christmas before she passed on, she got the whole meal from Publix and it was great, they brought it over in the morning...

She was a Home Ec teacher who always cooked and was a little put off that she had to rely on a grocery store, but it was good, she had the energy to enjoy the day....

16. I always get a key lime pie from Publix
when I'm visiting my brother in Atlanta. It is the best. In fact all of the desserts are really good.

We have an absolutely phenomenal grocery store called Wegmans in our area. They even teach ya how to use the EVOO properly. :hi:

19. Awww....... lucky you!
Publix is a wonderful supermarket. They opened a new one in Ft. Lauderdale a few years back and I loved going there.

They have all this terrific, inexpensive house brand stuff. For a cheapskate like me, it's fantastic.
