Does the iPhone look attractive to you as a product to possibly buy?
I just got an iMac computer and really like it. Alot. As a product and as an object sitting on my desk. And I don't really care so much about the marketing hype of Apple. It is just a good machine... so far.

I have never wanted a cellphone that takes pictures, carries music or anything else. But today, after looking into what the iPhone will do... coupled with it's appearance it suddenly looks attractive as a product.

Does anyone else think the iPhone might be worth looking into in year or so? Right now, I don't have the money or need.

1. Yes but I'd wait for Apple to work out the inevitable bugs that all their
products have in the beginning. I looks awesome to me.

2. No.
I already have e-mail, Web and a camera in my phone. Mine may even play mp3s, but I've never wanted that.

3. $500 for a phone, you can't be serious? I know ego is an Apple trait
but a $39 phone makes phone calls without the extra crap

4. That is a lot of $. Though if it has web browsing capability... it's a mini laptop too.
I THINK.

5. I'd rather buy a real laptop for $500
Excess, plain and simple. Jobs' thinks the sheeple will pour the money into his company because the phone says Apple. He is sadly wrong. People will throw stuff at Apple phone owners, you just watch.

13. It's not a phone - it's also a PDA and an iPod.
For what many people pay for a phone and an iPod, this single unit is not a bad price.

6. If I got an unexpected amount of money, then possibly
I HATE my current phone. Fucking HATE it. But my job bought it for me (so they could call me anytime they liked) so I use it. What a sad little anchored tool I am.

7. Maybe if the price goes down as it did for the iPod.
I'd have to see a bunch of stuff with it too and what kind of complaints roll in for the first iteration.

8. I'll wait a bit, just got a new one a few months ago,
but if it's as good as it looks, I'll buy it. Although it's too bad that it's only a 2 megapixel camera. I'm not sure that's really high enough quality to have that be your main camera. So if you have to drag around another camera it kind of defeats the purpose. Although come to think of it I haven't printed a single one of my digital pix yet, they all go on flickr, so

12. ...
It's a Motorola V710.

I'm surprised Apple is making such a big deal out of the capabilities cited.
The V710 is a few years old and there are many newer makes and models of phone
which leave it in the dust.

The only advantage I've seen to this iPhone is an expanded memory. Mine
is theoretically unlimited due to the fact I can have multiple flash memories
and use them individually. But, I can only have 2Gig at any one time.

11. It looks attractive, having all those things in one gadget, but I'd never pay 500-600 bucks for a
phone like that and I'm just waiting for them to talk about all the nickel and dime charges for each individual service that you'll be offered on top of the monthly fee.

15. I'm into it, but my contract w Cingular is fresh so
no contract discount. In addition, I already have an iPod and a PDA which includes office features that I need.

But I'm sure I'll be checking out the next model!

17. Until sound quality improves, I HATE cellphones
I'm one of these idiots that is always yelling "what?" "huh?" "can you repeat that?".

When I've borrowed other people's phones - people who have other services and other phones - I don't notice that the quality is much better. I'll stick to a landline for as much of my calling as I can for now, and just hope sound improves.

The new iPhone looks really cool though. Will be interested to see how safe and long-lasting the battery is...

18. For me it's a good possibility
I'm a late adopter with most things, but the June release (after all of the FCC testing) works well for me. My two years with Verizon will be up in April, so switching carriers won't be a big deal, especially since you can take your number with you.
