My possible new cat.
Edited on Mon Jan-08-07 06:39 PM by ronnykmarshall
We've been toying with the idea to get a third cat and we saw this little cutie yesterday. Someone else was interested in adopting her, but the lady running the rescue told us to fill out an application anyway.

3. Me too.
Her color and markings are adorable. And what a sweet face!

It says she's a siamese mix, so she may be 'talkative' too. I love that.

7. She was very affectionate when my SO picked her up.
I hope the our other two cats like her.

They're both boys (brothers) and the lady at the rescue said that they would probably fall in love with her.

8. I hope you get her--tabby/siamese mixes are the best!
I know from personal experience:

They're extremely smart, and very sensitive (due to the siamese in them). They'll bond with you like no other cat I've ever seen. Those pics you posted look exactly like my cat looked at that age (his stripes got darker as he got older).

10. Damn!
That first pics is almost "kittie porn"! I've always wanted a siamese cat.

My only fear is that my boys will feel left out. Probably won't happen, which will mean I'll have THREE cats laying on my at night.

"Pushti" (1984-2001) who was a Lynx Point Siamese. It's half tabby and half Siamese. They have the athleticness of the tabby and the intelligence of the Siamese, but none the dorkiness some Siamese have. They are quiet, but their rambunctious kittenhood lasts for at least 5 years. As a kitten she looked exactly the pictures you posted. Here she is late in her life:

30. God I hope!
They are both boys and we've talked to a lot of people and they think that a female cat will round out the family.

Cosmo -

Is the Alpha male of the two.

and Ricco -

his brother is more of the "Oh OK, Cosmo ... I'll take care of it" :eyes: Type.

I'm more worried about Ricco. He sleeps right next to me while Cosmo lays his fat ass on my feet every night.

I don't want EITHER of the boys to get jealous of Gina. So it's gonna be an all about cat attention weekend.

33. You'll Never Regret Adopting a Siamese ... (Or Any Other Cat, Really)
I've had adopted Siamese most of my life - it's amazing how many people will dump pure-bred cats, but I won't go off on how those people who dump animals should die (screaming and choking on their own blood) - and Siamese cats are everything you've heard: smart, vocal, loud, very smart, gorgeous and they're also very affectionate, very social with cats and people and just a pleasure to live with. Yes, they shed heavily, but who cares?

Congratulations! You and your family (human and feline) will be even happier than you think you will be with this beautiful new addition!

We've de-cat the spare room. Gina will be staying there for now. I'm gonna sleep in there with her tonight.

Michael is sick and won't be working on Friday and we have a 3 day weekend to get the kids together.

I'm a nervous wreck.

44. First night w/ Gina!
We are currently keeping her in the spare room. So I slept in there with her. She was alllllll over me last night. Cuddling up in my arm, licking my face, biting my fingers. She found her food and her poo-poo/pee-pee palace. She was very good last night.

The first meeting took place later this morning with the boys. Michael (home sick w/ the flu) was in the spare room with her and left the door open a bit to see if the boys would come in. OF COURSE! They sniffed around and then the three of them saw each other. Cosmo and Ricco just looked at her like :loveya: and Gina growled at them. They RAN out the room and hid. Guess who will probably be queen of the house?

Michael just called and he was laying on our bed and the boys jumped up and cuddled up with him.

It's gonna be an all loving kitty weekend, I can just see it.

She looks a lot like one of my mom's cats did when he was her age. Here he is grown up - he too has slightly crossed eyes. He is chock full of personality- one of my favorite cats ever!

51. Our power is off ! (I'm at work)
So I won't be able to upload any new pics ..... Get THIS shit ..... Edison says they won't have power back until 11:45 PM !!!! So avoid WeHo (La Cienega & Santa Monica) today.

Back to the cats ..... I have a feeling that Gina is going to rule the roost. The boys really are curious about her and I now that they know she's in the other room, they keep hanging out by the door Michael said. Another update .... Michael spent time with Gina for a while and OF COURSE the boys are crawling all over him.

It's gonna be a LONG weekend. Hopefully with power.

53. I think so.
I saw a flash last night, so looks like a transformer blew out.

Michael says there are Edison trucks on our street now and I saw several on Santa Monica Blvd. It seems that west of La Cienega is the starting point with the power up on the south side of the blvd and the north (my side) is out. Gonna be some upset people at the Ramada today. I don't know how far west the outage is.

Our place stays so-so warm. We're on the forth floor and normally we get everyone else's heat .. but not tonight. We have a faux fire place that luckily is working. Looks like take out food, flash lights, blankets and a game of cards tonight.

and it's interesting how in the face, you can immediately tell she's a little girl... what a cutie pie. Glad the boys love her, too. We started out, in our current home, with a male and female, got another male (first male is definitely alpha, even tho the second male is 19 lbs of muscle), then a mommakitty brought us her three girls and now we're a big happy family of 7!

Does WeHo = West Hollywood?
