Guess The Truth
Just a little game to play. :) I'm going to type out a list of 6 things. Three of them are true statements about my life, and three are completely made-up. Try and guess correctly which three of mine are true, and then post your own.

1. I had the privilege of meeting Coretta Scott King when visiting the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis.
2. We attended a White House Easter "Egg Roll" with our 4 year old son as a lesbian family in 2004.
3. My son's paternal grandmother was once portrayed by Susan Sarandon in a movie.
4. My maternal aunt recorded a song in 1972 that charted in the Country music Top 40.
5. My great-great uncle was a copper mining billionaire who died a broken man.
6. I worked for the Zogby polling agency, and once spoke to Ron Reagan Jr. while conducting a poll.

Good luck :)

3. hmmm.......
the most "likely" would probably be 1, 2 and 6, but.... the other's would be really cool. :)

Heck, I don't know if can play though 'cause I'm not good at making stuff up. :( Let's see:

1. I'm related to a WWI war hero.
2. I used to be a not-so-famous figure skater.
3. My great grandfather was a very wealthy man who buried all of his gold during the Civil War, and it's never been found.
4. My dad outran a Japanese MIG on his hands and knees.
5. I partied with Susan Sarandon a couple of times.
6. I swam with a famous understudy once.

(oh I didn't do it right - there's not a 3/3 split.... Oh well, have fun guessing anyway!)

Yes, 3 is true. Someone guessed all 3 of mine correctly below, if you want the "spoiler". ;)

48. Okay, details of my truths:
3. My son's paternal grandmother was once portrayed by Susan Sarandon in a movie.

The movie was called "The Exonerated", made by Court TV. It details the cases of six death row inmates who were eventually released because evidence came to light that cast their convictions into serious doubt. My son's paternal grandmother is Sonia "Sunny" Jacobs. You can Google her to read all about what happened--it's a very long story that's hard to explain here.

5. My great-great uncle was a copper mining billionaire who died a broken man.

My great-great uncle's name was Frederick Augustus Heinze. He lived in Montana, and was the brother of my paternal great-grandfather John Matthew Augustus Heinze. He become a billionaire copper mine baron, but his company went down in the Panic of 1907. He had sold his holdings in the company before it went under, but lost all of that too before he died penniless and humbled.

6. I worked for the Zogby polling agency, and once spoke to Ron Reagan Jr. while conducting a poll.

This is exactly as it sounds! I worked for Zogby International in the summer of 1999 in their call center on Genesee Street in Utica, New York. We were conducting a telephone poll about the candidates for the 2000 election, and Ronnie Reagan's number came up in my queue! He told me who he was shortly after starting the poll, and I was shocked at how different his political views were--being Reagan's son, I had expected a conservative Republican. He was very nice about it. :)

60. Yes! 1, 2, and 4 are true!
1. I was involved in a battle royal as "The Mercenary" in 1997 in San Bernardino(one of about 15 people to play that role, but I was the only "Mercenary" that night).

2. A group of friends invited me to go to "Hot Seat" with them. Even back then, I didn't agree with Wally George, but I wasn't really all that political. I even got to be on camera making a really stupid joke about one of the guests.

4. Our family's dog was sleeping on my foot and I made the mistake of moving it so I could get off the couch. He took a big bite, and I still have the toothmarks nearly 20 years later.

For the false ones:

3. I was not born on Valentine's Day. I was born on Roe v. Wade day: January 22, 1973!

5.I'm not sure what my favorite food is, but it isn't broccoli, even though I think broccoli is okay.

6. I will be turning 34 this year, not 35.
