*question for e-bayers*
if you sell on e-bay do you have to give them a tax id number or a social security number? in other words does e-bay report to the irs?

if you are drawing umemployment should the monies you recieve form seeling on e-bay be reportied as earned income for the week in which you are signing up?

8. It's called an Octavia
by Skoda, from the Czech Republic. Skoda are owned by VW. I wanted it in black, with blue my second choice, but they offered me £500 more on my trade-in against the model they happened to have in their showroom. So I ended up with another silver car instead.

3. No...
If you sold a car or house.. You might need to report it.. I sold a computer for over two thousand and nothing ever came of it. This was years ago.

6. what about the people who run "e-bay stores"?
or regular sellers? i am assuming yours was just a one time deal. i have never sold on e-bay and i have only made one purchase.

10. eBay has a metric fuckload of lawyers..
Read everything very carefully.. Your obligations should be presented in some form of a EULA. Tens of thousands do the same thing with zero experience. I'm sure eBay has made sure people without any accounting experience can do it. It is a global flea market, I wouldn't worry about it..

I am not your lawyer..

11. i am considering selling my jewelry on e-bay but, i am asking
these questions in regards to a friend of mine (it's true, i swear) who has been selling on e-bay for years as a sideline. the company they worked for folded back in october and they have been signing up. i know that they asked have you earned any income this week and i just wondered how e-bay income would be figured into the equation

12. Have been a seller on ebay
and last time I looked, eBay leaves the reporting to the IRS up to you.

That being said, the IRS has stated several times recently that it may be monitoring some eBay sales/sellers.

Do some research, and to help you in that, here's an article to start:
