If the food you use doesn't have Taurine in it...consider a supplement that contains taurine.

Most pet foods usually lose the taurine due to processing. Taurine is usually found in uncooked meats...well once the meat is cooked to process the food it is gone. (By the way this lends another feather in the cap for considering a raw food pet diet.)

Taurine is good for your pets heart. It is a must have for cats but, just recently the need in dogs has been uncovered.

1. I think most cat and dog foods add taurine these days. They have all

heard the news. But perhaps some discount brands have not.I don't know. A vet told me it was added to pet food these days.
