How's the weather where you are?
Here it is bizarrely warm (surprise). The temperature raised about 10 degrees suddenly a couple evenings ago here (NC) and it has stayed unseasonably warm. The blackbirds (grackles?) are screeching in the yard, there is a huge flock of thousands of them. This coupled with the warm/ light rain falling right now makes it feel so much like spring...

It brought this song to mind, actually

Today, by Smashing Pumpkins

5. uh-oh
I didn't know there was one. That song captured a moment in time, that's for sure. I know exactly what he's talking about when he says "today is the greatest day I've ever known." It's rare that the weather conditions are just right that that's how it feels, in January.

Is this a Smashing Pumpkins are good/bad debate, or what?

9. heh heh
it was a friendly debate (it was good fun and affection was expressed at the end) between me and two other DU'ers as to the best Smashing Pumpkins album.

3. COLD!
No, really.

It's in the 40s and it's *insanely* windy. And I'm from the Midwest, I know windy.

It's so cold that my eyes were watering at the bus stop this morning. And I've been inside for over an hour, but haven't taken my coat off yet.

COLD!

18. I second that! SoCal is one big, freezing wind box
right now.

No rain in sight and
We Need It !

We got a feeble attempt last night- 1/16th inch of rain
and that was it.

Otherwise, this "Winter" has been cold, dry and windy.

It's 52 degrees on my patio at 12:58 PDT.

23. 60 deg in Denville NJ, drizzle, 65-70 tomorrow
Snow-related industries in a panic. Ski resorts, stores with snow removal stuff. Plow guys with contracts do nothing and don't get paid unless it snows.

But I'm happy. Will have used only appx. 400 gallons of heating oil September through April when it's all done, HALF of normal. Being poor right now, that means a lot. Electric bill cut in half.

24. Like spring here, too.
We had awful weather last night, but today the sun is out and it's almost 70 degrees. I've been out working in the yard. In shorts. In early January.
