9. There was a nice article in Vanity Fair a few years ago that detailed

how they stole their best lyrics from Caz of the Cold Crush Brothers, among others.

They were pretty much the Monkees of early rap, nevertheless they blew up rap in a big way (though it certainly would have happened not much later without them), and I admit I still enjoy spinning their 12" singles.
