After?
Got married. He started snoring. I put a bed in the baby's room and started sleeping in there.
So romantic, I know...

13. He's had the breathing machine, but I think he needs a different mask.
He couldn't exhale properly with the one they gave him. We may buy one to try, in the near future. I would LOVE to be able to sleep in the grown-up bed again (it's been about five years).

29. Since the surgery, Mr. M has terrible restless legs
so I can't get any sleep unless I go to the office. I would much rather sleep in my bedroom with him, but I don't want to disturb him about the leg thing, so I just move on.

Edited on Thu Jan-04-07 09:11 PM by Radio_Lady
I occupy a different room because of a lot of things:

.Sleep apnea
.Snoring (off and on)
.Restless leg syndrome
.Different bedtimes (I'm a lark, he's an owl...)
.Different bedroom temperatures
.Different activities prior to bed (I like quiet music and darkness, he like to read or watch TV with light on.)

If Lara thinks of something, I hope she lets me know!

My husband snores loud enough to hear it almost all over the house.

56. Is he overweight? Grandpa lost weight and it did cut down on snoring.
People use fat around their chins and neck.

Less fat = less snoring.

7. nah
life is transitory. the only fixed thing is death.

i like the idea that i might only know someone for a short time. helps me to understand that i don't possess, that i don't own them, for some reason i end up knowing them much longer.

plus i don't think you can really spend FOREVER (a concept our human minds will NEVER understand) with someone. how can expect more out of a person than reality itself can allow? that is, in life nothing is permanent, nothing lasts forever, how can one expect a person to last forever.

i'm glad i have people for as long as i have them, it helps me appreciate them that much more.

33. not really
except once under the influence of drugs and only because I literally couldn't move, didn't remember exactly how I'd ended up in that precise position and location or when, but I knew it must have been hours and hours since I'd lost consciousness, and I marveled at the fact that I still held my boyfriend's hand in mine and probably had for hours and would for hours more. Not p.c. to say but it was one of the greatest moments of my life. I even wrote a poem about it.

But if you awoke feeling this way, I am so happy for you, beyond what I could express here.

35. Worked for me.
My wife and I have been married a long time now, and most days I still have that feeling... :loveya:

Before that, when I was single, I remember waking up a few times thinking "I never want to feel like this again for the rest of my life!"

Once I woke up on the floor next to someone's Harley parked in a scary sort of rental in San Diego. I wasn't quite sure how I got there, but it had something to do with tequila.

with the same person, I ought to add.

It's a thing of marvel that I still frequently and quietly acknowledge the feeling of perfect contentment of simply being in that moment. It's not the sort of thing you can pin to an index card and it can be fleeting but it is deep.

what it's like to wake up next to someone other than the dog--not that that's a bad thing, I guess, but obviously not what you're aiming for.

At this point in my life, she's about the only chance I have left to wake up to anything that's breathing.

58. 20+ years of marriage. Some days I wake up happy, some days I want to kill him
some days I'm apathetic, some days I'm busy and not even thinking about him at all. I believe we're fairly typical of a long term relationship. Take a deep breath and vow, VOW right now, that no matter who you are with and how you feel about that person right now, you will do something kind for your SO today, one kind thing everyday. When all is said and done, when the fireworks have worn off and the daily grind of a relationship asserts itself, you will feel good that you did one kind thing for someone you love (loved? could love again in the future when things are easier?)

Making them a cup of coffee or tea.
Putting on the space heater in the bathroom so the shower isn't so frosty?
Starting their car on a cold winter's morn so they can get in nice and toasty?
Putting a note in their briefcase, email, lunch etc.
Did the litterbox on THEIR day.
etc. etc.

Relationships wax and wane - know that. I have days when I finger the kitchen knives and hope to kill him, and other days when it's so unbearably sweet....

Ah! L'amour! Bon chance!
