What band am I thinking of? (#6)
You know how this works. You ask me questions and try to figure it out. Just to let you know, you guys have been getting them too quickly lately, so I am making today's band quite a bit more difficult. But you HAVE heard of them and they DID have hits. So there.

Go ahead, I'm ready. :)

Previous answers (I will not repeat answers):

Guns n Roses
The Police
The Temptations
Afghan Whigs
Faces

Okay that's next on the old iPod

I knew they were older than that. I saw them on St.PAtrick's Day in a little room at Wm&MAry in Ninety.... uh something. The leader singer who always reminded me of Colin Quinn had on a little sparkly leprechan hat and he came out and announce "TWO WHOLE OUNCES!!" I think I know what he meant.

111. I saw them several times.
I saw them open for the Replacements, and I left during the 'Mats. Never was a huge fan. The Connells were awesome though!

124. Heh.
But I couldn't SAY Pennsylvania. How many bands are from PA? Like, 3. Besides, they asked me "what part of the country", not "what state". Stop complaining, you big whiny baby!

Man, I need to download some Connells now. I miss them!

125. No way! Mid Atlantic is Delaware, Maryland, Virginia.
Philly is a Northeast city and York is an hour from Philly. I stand by my answer! :D

128. You just wanna be a Northeast girl.
Sorry, I used to live in Philly and I know Philly girls.

There are Northeast Girls, Jersey Girls, and Mid Atlantic Girls (consisting of Philly, Bawlamer, etc.) and the rest of the country.

HAHAHA!

131. Over ruled!
As a long time resident of NYC and Boston (where you can find REAL Northeast Girls) I have jurisdiction in this matter and Philly, and York, PA are hereby adjudicated as Mid Atlantic areas.

Adjourned.

Edited on Wed Jan-03-07 11:21 AM by HughBeaumont
They formed in 1988 under the name Public Affection.

That was the only other choice, though.

121. Dude, they released their first self-made cassette, got signed, and took
the name Live in 1989. I was as true to the spirit of the question as possible. That's why you have to take all the clues together. If you feel I cheated, I do apologize. :(

126. Where was I for the Afghan Whigs series?
Them's Ohio boys.

I'm sorry, I get frustrated easy. Job, you know . . .

In 1989, my hair was a foot long and I listened to thrash metal. The radio bands of that era just kind of dropped off the radar.
