I don't get drunk. I was pissed off at this cough, so I just swigged from the bottle.

Took. Too. Much. . . . wheee! Temporarily feeling no pain . . . wheeee! . . . and temporarily cough-free.

This got-damned cough kicks my ass daily. Allergies.

I take Claritin. I take Flonase. I take Delsym. I pop cough drops like candy. Nothing stops it.

Nothing, that is, except for alcohol.

I can't take tequila to work. :(

1. Last time I had a bad cough
and needed something to take to work I bought Fisherman's Friend lozenges. They seemed to work pretty good. Pretty strong! Hope it helps! :hi:

2. Spanish Brandy
But it wasn't worth the side effects. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken my prescription cough syrup w/codeine and called it a night, last night.

3. dark chocolate
is supposed to be as good as codeine for coughs!!

side note: I could take Nyquil only because I could drink tequila straight! lol. Moonshine worked on my bronchitis in college, once.

Also - you might need a different allergy tab - like Zyrtec. yeah, it's expensive but it works on more "types" of allergens than Claritin.

Or you might not have an allergy at all. There's something called vasomotor rhinitis. Same symptoms as allergies, different causes. Not much you can frickin' do about it.

8. hmmm that's interesting

i never heard of tequila being used for a cough but this might be a regional difference

i thought coughs were best dealt w. by rum, bourbon, brandy, or apricot brandy

i prefer a bourbon toddy with real butter, honey, fresh squeezed lemon myself

if it's the alcohol that cures, it probably doesn't really matter and i am just repeating deep south superstitions

p.s. ever since the invention of claritin, i have not needed the flonase so i have never needed to use both together -- this suggests our physiology is quite different -- whatever i hope you stop coughing and get well soon, i hate the damn coughing which was the devil of my younger years

10. Bourbon mixed with sugar -
- enough sugar to make a syrupy paste. Cuts the cough and tastes good!
