2. Definitely go to Devils Courthouse.
It's just a few miles up the road from you (from Pisgah Inn) and God what a view, only a ten minute walk up (straight up, hope you don't smoke). You know, just down from Devils Courthouse is Graveyard Fields, which has a 2 gorgeous waterfalls, just as nice as the one at Looking Glass falls. Also, if you do go to Looking Glass, not far away from there is a little recreation area called Sliding Rock where there is a big rock slide you can slide down, just make sure to wear a pair of shorts over your bathing suit because the rock will wear a hole through them. It's a really popular place and there are usually lots of kids there. If you go to the Biltmore House, come back up through town (when you leave the Biltmore House entrance turn left instead of right) and go up Biltmore Avenue into downtown Asheville (5 min). You can park and window shop and go to some of the little cafe's. Lexington avenue is really nice, they have some cool antique shops and funky hippy shops. A friend of mine from Peru recently referred to downtown Asheville as like a "little Paris".

You have quite an itinerary planned. I just moved away from Asheville four months ago and I spent tons of time on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah Inn is right in the center of everything, but it's a drive to Great Smokies National Park and Clingmans dome.

If you have time when you are in Brevard (at Looking Glass Falls) I would get directions to Triple Falls. This is the most spectacular waterfall I have ever seen in my life, it is a 400 footer, the height of Niagara Falls, but it turns twice, so it does not fall straight down like Niagara does. There is a huge parking lot and it is about a 5 or ten minute walk up to the falls, and they have a shelter and benches so you could even have a picnic. Definitely ask the folks at Pisgah Inn the best way to get to Brevard, I think you can take 276 at some point off the parkway which would be better than coming down and going interstate, but I haven't been that way in about ten years so I can't remember the exact route or if it is faster, but my feeling is that it is, although it is a winding road.

Oh, and you will know Graveyard Field when you see it because there are always tons of cars in the parking lot, people usually park all over the grass too, but there's alot of room to hike around down in the fields so it is not too crowded. There is a falls that is only about fifteen minutes from the parking lot, actually you cross over it and then keep going on down to the very bottom. There is another falls that is further away, it takes about 45 min to an hour to hike it and the trail is not that well marked, plus the last time I was there a man said he got up to the falls and there was a black bear up there. I'll shut up now, now that I am totally homesick and jealous. Have a great time.

3. Thanks for the advice!
What is the Devil's Courthouse?
I'm glad to hear that Asheville is such a nice town - I've never been. I've always wanted to do a little trip into the Appalachian before we move back to the West coast. We really need a getaway from Miami, the heat, the traffic, the stupid coconut trees!
