Deck The Balls: Christmas Party ends in "Malicious Castration"
Woman charged with malicious castration

December 30, 2006

LILLINGTON, N.C. --A woman attacked a man in his genitals during a Christmas party, injuring him badly enough that he needed 50 stitches, authorities said Friday. Rebecca Arnold Dawson, 34, was charged with malicious castration in a fight early Tuesday at a party hosted by the 38-year-old man's girlfriend, police said.

All three were heavily intoxicated, police Chief Frank Powers said.

Dawson is accused of grabbing the man's genitals. Police said a weapon was not used. He declined to elaborate.

"I believe he needed more than 50 stitches to repair the damage, but he is back home at this point," police Cpl. Brad Stevens said. "All we can tell you is that the injury was done with her hands."

<snip>

Dawson, who was released Wednesday on $50,000 bond, also was charged with offenses including assault causing serious bodily injury.

1. Well the obvious question is...
why did she do it? No mention of that in the article at the link.

2. I agree with the last poster
What did he do to deserve such a thing.

Typically, to cause that kind of injury, she would have had to have direct access to that part of his body. I'm not sure a grab through the pants gives one enoug grip or leverage to cause that kind of damage. So, if she had direct access, the next question is why did she have direct access.

I know I have my opinions about what drives a woman to commit this type of injury upon a man, but I would imagine if he was attempting something unseemly there might have been some mention of it in the article.

Even absent of it in the news article, I still have to say, a woman doesn't just try to rip a man's balls off without having good reason, and I can think of one damn good reason. If that reason is the case, he should be the one sitting in a jail cell on his injured manhood.

3. So the next time a man beats up his wife,
we can assume he had a good reason?

7. Wow, way to miss the point.
No, I'm merely stating that in this particular instance I believe there was most likely some motivating factor. I was discussing this with my wife last night and she agreed.

Why is it so many people (and yes, I mean you) take specific statements made about a specific incident and apply them to something that is almost the opposite of the situation.

What I said was, in this instance, it seems like the kind of injury the guy probably did something to deserve. Men don't tend to fight women (especially not other men's girlfriends while in the home of that other man and said girlfriend) nor do they tend to "whip it out" under these same circumstances.

I do not think, in this specific instance, it is not unreasonable to think that she may have had justifiable motivation for such a horrendous injury.
