My bosshole quit today!
Worst freakin' boss EVER!

Not less than 1/2 hour later, an awesome company that I sent my resume to last week called me to say they think my background is a great fit and they want to meet ASAP.

YA-FREAKIN-HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. My bosshole
Isn't really a bad person, she's just inept and a total waste of time.

I go in her office looking for something to do to fill eight hours of my day, and after an hour of bullshit and faffing around, she'll ask me to call the car rental place and get her a quote for a car for the week.

Like, what the hell. I am on salary and I am supposed to be 90% billable, but all the tasks my boss gives me are bullshit administrative nonsense.

Or, she'll give me something to do and then somehow nullify what I just did. Last week she asked me to read the 83 page report on gobies (a small endangered fish), so I spent the afternoon working on that. The next day she asked me to summarize what I read, and I spent two whole hours trying to summarize the report for her while she repeatedly interruped me with TOTALLY unrelated shit. I billed two hours to her stupid project. I wasn't about to waste half my overhead time for the week on her lame ass.

:eyes:

ps I am not a freeper, I just lurk.

8. Hang in there Fawkes.
I support you, yet am suspicious of your "Fox" nickname. Especially since you took the time to to let me know you are "not a freeper, I just lurk."

Welcome...enjoy.

11. Mine quit 3 weeks ago....
My Bosshole (ha!) and the worst person in the office took each other out in some sort of legal wrangle about which the rest of us are not privy to the details. It's sheer heaven to have both of them gone.

Congratulations on your new job! (maybe)

12. Oooohhh can you send some of that job-mojo my way?
I would give ANYthing for my bosshole to quit. He is the absolute WORST--antisocial, negative/pessimist beyond belief, nasty, conspiratorial with the other bosshole (these middle managers--oy) to bring the rest of us down, childish (won't take responsibility for his errors--it's always somebody else's fault--and of course that means those of us under him who are actually saving his BACON goddammit)...I could go on but then I'd start frothing at the mouth and want to do him severe physical harm again.

Oh yeah--and he's a crappy writer and editor.

And his job is editor.

There were rumors that he was trying to move back to his home state, but nothing seems to have come of it. :(

This situation is so bad I am ready to quit without having another job lined up (breaking a cardinal rule DH and I have to prevent destitution in the MG household). Luckily DH supports my decision and is trying to get me to freelance. And I just might...because it looks like nothing 'round these parts is going to change...

14. Well, if you have a support system - then just leave. Life is too short.
I just wish I could retire right now - at 35!

17. You're right about that
Life IS too short to put up with this shit. I'm close, very close. It's just that stack of bills that arrive every month that gives me pause. My salary is shit, but it's needed...we shall see, though, sooner rather than later, I suspect. Or I'll spontaneously combust...

Snarf--I'd like to retire too--at 40/nearly 41--and I think I have ever since I entered the workforce at 15!

19. I wish that my boss would quit too
Although it would probably hurt him to hear me say that. He just isn't someone who I can look up to at all. I would rather have a boss who was more competent and on top of things. I also would prefer someone who wasn't obsessive about other issues that really aren't as important, like how many pieces of tape to put on a package when sending out packages isn't my main job function.
