3. You know, dogs just don't get into musical theater the way they used to
I think it's a generational thing...

4. My mother's cat
couldn't abide the sound of her concertina. Used to bite her on the wrist whenever she played.

5. do you know the song "Lena from Palesteena"?
It's a very popular song from the early 1900s, about a young woman and her concertina. Lots of double meanings. Here's the chorus:

Lena is the queen of Palesteena
Just because she plays her concertina
She plays it day and night
She never gets it right
She plays it with all her might
But how they love it -- want more of it
I heard her play once or twice
Oh murder! Still, it was nice
She got fat as he got Lena
Pushing on her concertina
Down old Palesteena way

(something like that)

12. Try Barbara. Or Ethel.

Some dogs need a little more vibrato to make them happy.

17. Speaking of dogs, why does my cat insist on drinking out of MY water glass?
I know they like to drink out of the sink an all but there is a big bowl of water on the floor and right now she is sitting on the arm of the couch with her head in my water glass.

I know I'll rinse this one out but I wonder how much cat slobber I've drunk after she has surreptitiously stuck her head in there while I wasn't looking.
