Do you wrap gifts "from Santa"?
It seems that my family and my wife's family have different opinions and customs on this. Since we are staying home this year and hosting it is up to us.

MY family wraps everything
HER family wraps gifts from themselves but Santa's gifts arrive unwrapped.

1. I think my only "from Santa" gift that wasn't wrapped was a snowboard...
But that's just because it's big and oddly shaped. Otherwise, yeah, always wrapped.

2. nope.
A bone of contention with both hubby's.

1st hubby - after divorce - was what "gave it away". He wrapped his presents and Santa's presents in the same paper. Daughter picked up on it right away. Duh.

3. A friend used to wrap presents from various movie stars
And other famous celebrities! I thought that was pretty funny. Hey, it's as believable as "Santa"!

5. only big toys were unwrapped when I was a kid - like bikes, etc.
my mom used the same paper (labels said from Santa), but we took a while to pick up on that.

8. Sometimes.
For kids especially. I'll buy me a book, wrap it and write from Santa on the tag. My kid says, there's no Santa. I say, maybe not for you anymore but he's there for me. Oh, the look I get(crazy mom).

11. That 's good.
Last year I wrapped a hunk of coal and addressed it to myself from Santa.

After opening it, my kids busted a gut laughing so hard. I played it like I was very upset & mad and that just made them laugh harder.

9. Every year my wife gets wrapped presents from
Santa Claus, ToTo, Guess Who?, the birds and squirrels whom she feeds religiously year round, Her Monkeys (private joke), but "nothing" from me. Every year I tell her I'm not gonna get her anything and I always come through. Its so easy to amuse 50 year olds.

10. We wrap the Santa gifts...
Half the fun is seeing the kids tearing open the presents. There is the excitement of picking up a box, lifting it, opening it, and the dawning realization of what it is. They must think so too, every time something is unwrapped it's looked at for a little bit and then it's a dash back to the tree for the next one.

Sure it's more mess, but it's also much more fun.

13. Santa's gifts are wrapped
but I have to buy the paper right before Christmas and hide any leftovers for use the next year since little one likes to play in the wrapping paper bin.

15. Until last year, I always wrapped Santa's gift in different...
paper. I even used different gift tags and changed my handwriting.

Last year, my kids were 15, 13 and 11, so, I didn't bother with it. Guess what? They actually noticed. The 11 year old thought he was catching me in a mistake.

17. I go for reality
I take the kids' presents up to the fifth floor of a parking garage and drop them on the sidewalk. Then on Xmas when they ask why their presents are all smashed I say, "Santa's real, but the little parachutes on packages is a lie." Then I start drinking.

18. I wrapped until
my little environmentalist (6 at the time -- 18 now) commented on the mountain of wrapping paper we threw away one year. The next year I got giant gift bags (like for bicycles) for each of my kids. The told Santa (in their letters) not to wrap the gifts, just put them in the big bags they left on the sofa. We've used the same bags every year since.
